World of Birds – Hout Bay 30 December 2008
21 January 2009

I visited World of Birds in Hout Bay, Cape Town a few weeks ago. Firstly, it needs to be said that it seems like the people working there are doing a very good job. It can’t possibly be easy running a place like that with that little funding. That brings me to my greatest concern, however: Funding. Apparently the park has had numerous problems with funding, be it from the state or private donors. It really is a shame seeing such a precious park struggling, but I can’t think how any other outcome is possible. South Africans spend thousands of Rands to visit popular destinations around the world, yet local attractions can’t afford new caging or proper maintanance because the only visiters are German. How well do you know your province? Maybe it’s time we started travelling, locally.

:) Jy help my op my paadjie van onwillekeurig skielik baie liewer raak vir diere. Die aasvoel! Whoah! En die wit-en-swart klou teen die draad…
Goeie werk. Het jy gegaan net omdat jy lus was vir foto’s neem?
