On Monday I did something no man should ever do. I went to an event called “Bondelsport”. At this event all the ladies’ residences compete in a series of events previously known as Boeresport, and the rest of the girls (those not jumping around in bags) cheer them along. As with all similiar competitions, however, the emphasis has moved from the actual sport to the cheering. That these type of cheering events still happened at a University was news to me too.
I tried to get some shots, but had a very tough time. I’m not sure if it was just because of all the very loud girls, the awkward light or the consecutive days of endless editing, but nothing seemed to work nicely. Also, I couldn’t pick up the mood. People were cheering, but no one seemed very into it. I tried to capture some people looking bored or irritated, but the hawk’s eye of most HK’s prohibited any signs of truth.
A big congratulations to Minerva who won the Geesbeker. Again.
